I item V ways

This segment is to show you how to style an unexpected item, five ways. I have chosen a vintage pink chevron shirt. I love this shirt, I have worn it A LOT since I stumbled upon it at the glorious Schauplatz Clothing store, in San Francisco. That store is great, it has an eclectic collection of flamboyant vintage-wear. A shirt like this is a versatile must-have, because the multi-color print makes it easy to pair with staples. It's that 'Hero' piece you build a look around. Let’s take this gem from workwear to clubwear!

Look I - Glamazon

This is a party look; I unbuttoned the shirt and bared the shoulders to make the outfit alluring. The look has a very Saint Laurent-inspired feel to it, with the black tights, belt and pointy pumps. Belt is Givenchy from Yoox.com, pumps are Jimmy Choo from the Outnet.com, and bag is vintage from the Rose Bowl flea market.

Look II - Business casual

I paired the shirt with matching pink slacks that have a bit of sheen on them. This is a stylish and conservative workwear look. Pants are from Zara FW 17 and shoes are Vionnet from Net-a-porter.com

Look III Chic streetwear

This is a streetwear inspired daytime look. I paired the shirt with vintage Levi’s and a faux fur jacket. Shorts are from Afterlife Boutique (in San Francisco), hooded faux fur jacket is from Forever 21, belt is pristine vintage Gucci, purse is vintage, and Miu Miu flats are from Net-a-porter.com winter sale.

Look IV – Chill night out

This is how I wear this shirt most often, tucked into high-waisted jeans, heels are optional. This Ganni Kawaii jacket is the perfect cover-up for a chic nighttime look. The jeans are Paige (best fitting jeans for my athletic shape, can I get an AMEN!) from Nordstrom Rack, Ganni jacket is from Net-a-porter (now on sale at Outnet.com), and heels are Diane Von Furstenberg from Matchesfashion.com

Look V - Date night

In this look, I layered the shirt underneath a black silk slip dress and paired it with motorcycle boots. The goal here is to look sexy but understated. A few buttons are undone; we aren’t trying too hard because we don’t need to!
